Posting Summary | The Department of English at Rutgers University, which has a long history of scholarship and teaching in African American Literature and Literature of the African Diaspora, invites applications for one Cheryl A. Wall Postdoctoral Fellowship in African American and African Diaspora Literary Studies. We welcome applications from scholars pursuing research in African American and/or African Diasporic literature broadly and are especially interested in scholars engaged in black feminist criticism and theory. Scholarship and teaching intersecting with African American poetics, black ecologies, performance studies, sound studies, black queer studies, or the black radical tradition are also especially welcome. This Postdoctoral Associate fellowship position is a one-year appointment for the 2025-2026 academic year, and includes an annual salary of $60,000, health benefits, and a $5,000 research stipend. The recipient will teach one course in the Spring semester of the academic year, will serve as an informal mentor to graduate students in the field, and will participate in the intellectual life of the department. Please submit a letter of interest, c.v., research proposal, and three letters of reference, through the Rutgers University application system (ROCS).
