Job summary

Qualifications

• PhD within the past five years or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated expertise in urban-scale modeling and analysis.
• Experience with Earth system models like CESM and/or E3SM.
• Familiarity with high-performance computing and statistical analysis.
• Knowledge of satellite remote sensing and Google Earth Engine.
• Ability to modify model source code to develop new capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform global-scale analyses of satellite observations and datasets to generate ensembles of temporally varying biophysical parameters for urban areas.
• Incorporate datasets into DOE’s Energy Exascale Earth System Model (E3SM) for sensitivity experiments on urban inputs across scales.
