Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory's Michigan SPARC in Ann Arbor invites applications from researchers with a PhD in engineering, physics, mathematics or related fields to advance turbulence modeling across fusion and ocean flows. You will work with LANL staff and University of Michigan collaborators to develop fast, low-order, coherent-structure models.

Locations include Ann Arbor, MI or Los Alamos, NM. Strong programming in C++, Fortran, Python; opportunities to publish and educate LANL staff;

Qualifications

• PhD completed or near completion in relevant fields.
• Strong background in fluid dynamics, plasma physics, or ocean modeling.
• Proven programming experience in CFD codes and at least one of C++, Fortran, Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop cross-domain turbulence models for fusion and ocean applications.
• Collaborate with LANL and University of Michigan researchers to apply theory to problems.
• Publish results and educate LANL staff on new tools.
