The Vassoler lab at Tufts University’s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in North Grafton, MA, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to study transgenerational mechanisms of opioid addiction. The position focuses on how paternal opioid exposure alters offspring behavior using a rat model and examines sperm microRNAs, especially let-7.

You will use behavioral, molecular, and genomic approaches, contribute to data analysis and manuscript preparation, and train junior researchers

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in neuroscience, pharmacology, biology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist in research to uncover transgenerational mechanisms of opioid addiction.
• Investigate paternal opioid exposure effects on offspring behaviors using rat models.
• Examine sperm microRNA let-7 role and use small RNA sequencing and GeoMX spatial profiling.
• Prepare manuscripts and presentations; mentor trainees; develop independent research questions.
