Job summary

University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Dana Graves. The project explores how diabetes impairs fracture healing and tests a locally delivered IGF-1 nanofiber hydrogel to restore skeletal repair.

The fellow will utilize mouse genetics, spatial transcriptomics, and single-cell sequencing with computational analysis to define regenerative signaling and cellular events, advancing translational biomaterials research.

Qualifications

• PhD/MD/DMD/DVM or equivalent in skeletal biology, cell biology, molecular biology or related field.
• Experience with mouse genetics, bone/cartilage biology, fracture healing, spatial transcriptomics or single-cell sequencing is desirable.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong scientific writing.

Responsibilities

• Investigate how diabetes alters FOXO1 activity and ciliogenesis in skeletal cells.
• Use conditional mouse models (FOXO1, IFT80) with fracture-healing assays.
• Apply spatial transcriptomics, single-cell RNA sequencing, and computational analyses (R/Seurat).
