Job summary

NC State University in Raleigh, NC, seeks a Postdoctoral researcher to advance swine health, welfare and productivity. The candidate will contribute to pain assessment and management on farm in the United States and work with the Animal Welfare and Behavior Lab at NCSU.

The ideal candidate must have a PhD in veterinary medicine or animal sciences with welfare experience and be able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• PhD required in veterinary medicine or animal sciences with preference for welfare experience.
• Experience working on swine facilities.
• Experience collecting data on pain response in swine.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Advance swine health, welfare and productivity.
• Advance pain management strategies for pigs on farm in the US.
• Collaborate with the Animal Welfare and Behavior Lab at NCSU.
