Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to explore the frontier of quantum information science and plasma physics. The role will lay the theoretical groundwork for Quantum Computer for Application Development and Discovery Science (QC-ADDS).

Qualifications

  • PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
  • Academic background or experience with quantum algorithms or quantum computing.
  • Ph.D. degree in Quantum Computing, Plasma Physics, Statistical Physics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with quantum algorithm, quantum error correction, and fusion energy science.
  • Strong team player with the willingness and ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to publish work in peer‑reviewed journals.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantum algorithms and error correction.
  • Demonstrated experience in formulating nonlinear multiscale complex systems.

Responsibilities

  • Publish research in peer‑reviewed literature and present at scientific conferences.
