Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in quantitative virology and immunology to contribute to projects at the intersection of mechanistic virology, host-pathogen interactions, structural modeling, and rational vaccine design.

The role focuses on experimental biology linked to computational predictions, characterizing virus-host interfaces, engineering protein variants, and supporting immunogen-design efforts for protective immune responses.

Qualifications

• Background in mechanistic virology, host-pathogen interactions, or vaccine design.
• Experience with pseudotyped virus systems, neutralization/entry assays, or related models.
• Experience with membrane proteins or structural biology data.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mentored research in quantitative virology and immunology.
• Collaborate with LLNL scientists and external partners to advance multidisciplinary objectives.
• Generate, organize, and interpret experimental datasets with appropriate statistics.
• Prepare and present proposals for new projects to management and experts.
• Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and technical reports.
• Integrate experimental data with computational structural modeling and design.
