Job summary

Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Lydy Lab is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to examine the fate and effects of current-use pesticides in aquatic systems. You will develop methods to detect pesticides in water, sediment, invertebrates and fish, and assess exposure impacts on salmon rearing.

The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in toxicology or environmental chemistry, hands-on experience with GC-MS or LC-MS, and skills in data analysis and scientific writing.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in toxicology, environmental chemistry, or related field.
• Experience developing methods for detection of pesticides in environmental media.
• Demonstrated record analyzing data, writing results, and publishing scientific manuscripts.
• Proficiency programming or coding in R.

Responsibilities

• Develop methods for detection of pesticides in water, sediment, invertebrates and fish.
