Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a highly qualified researcher to join the Advanced Diagnostics Development and Integration team within the Applied and Fundamental Physics division. The role focuses on developing subsystems for the Neutron-Diagnosed Subcritical Experiment (NDSE) diagnostic platform and supporting deployment at the NNSS.

The candidate will perform applied nuclear physics research related to the subcritical program.

Qualifications

• PhD in nuclear physics, particle physics, nuclear engineering, or related field completed within the past five years or soon to be completed.
• Experience with neutron, gamma-ray, or charged particle detection.
• Experience with particle/radiation transport simulations and data analysis.
• Ability to communicate via publications and presentations.
• Willingness and capability for regular travel and ability to obtain DOE clearance.

Responsabilités

• Develop subsystems for the NDSE diagnostic platform.
• Support deployment of the system at the NNSS.
• Perform applied nuclear physics research in support of the subcritical experimental program.
