Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to study how chronic metabolic stress drives mitochondrial dysfunction and metabolic reprogramming in adipocytes. The successful candidate will join the Touchstone Diabetes Center in the Scherer lab to explore mechanisms linking adipose tissue biology to systemic metabolic disease.

Candidates must hold a recent PhD and/or MD and have experience in physiology or immunology with solid publications.

Qualifications

• PhD and/or MD in a relevant field.
• Experience in Physiology or Immunology with peer-reviewed publications.

Responsibilities

• Investigate how chronic metabolic stress drives mitochondrial dysfunction in adipocytes.
• Apply state-of-the-art genetic, molecular, metabolic, and imaging approaches.
• Contribute to understanding adipose tissue dysfunction and systemic metabolic disease.
