Job summary

The Mansoor Lab pursues fundamental mechanisms of membrane proteins and pharmacology, offering opportunities to publish, present at meetings, and train students.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in biological sciences.
  • Experience purifying membrane proteins.
  • Experience with heterologous mammalian expression systems.
  • Some structural biology experience (preferably cryo-EM).
  • Experience with model building.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and analyze primary research projects.
  • Maintain laboratory compliance documentation for human, animal and biological work.
  • Be familiar with lab safety infrastructure and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Interact with biosafety, chemical safety, and safety officers on behalf of the PI.
  • Generate data and research analyses for reports and publications.
  • Assist the PI with manuscript preparation and grant applications.
  • Present research projects at retreats, seminars, conferences and other venues.
  • Provide training to users on lab practices and instrumentation use.
  • Maintain an accurate laboratory notebook of all experiments.
  • Participate in lab meetings and training of lab personnel.
