Job summary

The Centre for Research into Ageing and the Brain at the Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences within The University of Edinburgh seeks an experienced post-doctoral medical image analyst to conduct original research on perivascular spaces (PVS) in brain MRI.

The role focuses on testing and refining computational methods, including machine learning, to quantify PVS in patients at risk of vascular disease and neurodegeneration.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant discipline with demonstrated MRI computational image analysis experience.
• Experience in studies linking MRI findings with cognitive or neurodegenerative outcomes is advantageous.
• Strong statistical and data management skills and a publication track record.

Responsibilities

• Test and refine computational methods to measure PVS on brain MRI, including machine learning approaches.
• Study associations between PVS morphologies and current/future cognitive outcomes across diverse cohorts.
• Collaborate with international teams and contribute to dissemination of findings.
