Job summary

Pakhomov Laboratory, Frank Reidy Research Center for Bioelectrics seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to study how pulsed electric fields affect mammalian cells, focusing on plasma-membrane permeabilization, membrane dynamics and repair, and related cellular responses.

The role involves designing and conducting cell-based experiments, maintaining mammalian cell cultures, and preparing figures and manuscripts.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent doctoral training in cell biology, biophysics, physiology, neuroscience, biomedical or bioengineering, molecular biology, bioelectrics, or related discipline.
• Experience with quantitative cell imaging and membrane biophysics is preferred.
• Familiarity with electroporation, patch clamp and calcium/membrane-potential measurements is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct cell-based experiments using quantitative fluorescence microscopy and single-cell electrical and optical measurements.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data.
• Maintain mammalian cell cultures.
• Prepare figures, manuscripts, presentations and other research materials.
• Collaborate on ongoing projects and pursue independent experimental work.
