Job summary

The Alenghat lab at Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist with interests in epigenetics, host-microbe interactions, and intestinal biology. The role focuses on how microbiota influence mucosal and metabolic homeostasis and chronic diseases like IBD.

PhD/MD required; expertise in molecular biology, mouse handling, and mucosal immunology preferred. Candidates with bioinformatics experience or gnotobiotics are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• PhD/MD or equivalent required.
• Experience with molecular biology, mouse handling, and intestinal physiology/mucosal immunology is essential.
• Experience with bioinformatics and/or gnotobiotics desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and record laboratory experiments, and analyze data.
• Present research at laboratory meetings, journal clubs, seminars, and meetings.
• Draft, write, and edit scientific reports, papers, journals, abstracts, and grants.
• Progressively increasing responsibilities with mentorship of research staff and fiscal administration.
• Attend required Cincinnati Children’s training sessions and ensure regulatory compliance with policies.
