Job summary
The Department of Chemistry and Environmental Science at NJIT is seeking a highly motivated Post Doctoral Research Associate in environmental microbiology to contribute to cutting-edge research on the biodegradation and biotransformation of environmental pollutants. Qualifications
- PhD in Environmental Science, Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience in bacterial cultivation and nontarget analysis.
- Experience with pure cultures and environmental samples.
- English communication and writing skills required or strong.
Responsibilities
- Investigate transformation pathways that drive degradation of legacy and emerging pollutants.
- Use advanced analytical techniques (LC/MS/MS, HRMS) and bacterial cultivation/isolation.
- Collaborate on bench-scale bioreactors and other biological treatment systems.
- Publish impactful research and contribute to an interdisciplinary team.
