Job summary

University of Texas at Austin's Bureau of Economic Geology invites a Postdoctoral Fellow in Energy and Resource Systems at the Pickle Research Campus. Qualifications

  • PhD must be earned within 3 years from date of hire.
  • Demonstrated record of research communication and ability to present quantitative results to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with quantitative modeling and handling large, heterogeneous databases.
  • Programming capabilities in Python, R, SQL, or Julia; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Assess resource, infrastructure, and energy demand for large-load development; perform geospatial analyses for siting and resource coordination.
  • Develop and maintain databases and data pipelines powering COMPASS research; build economic models and projections.
  • Present research to consortium members and stakeholders; contribute to reports, white papers, and policy briefs.
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers and contribute to publications.
