Job summary

The role requires a PhD in electrical engineering within the last five years and experience in power systems, power electronics, and C/C++, Matlab, Python.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in electrical engineering or related discipline completed within the last five years.
• Expertise in power systems and power electronics.
• Experience in C/C++, Matlab, and Python programming.
• Experience with PSCAD, PSS/e or similar power-system software.

Responsibilities

• Develop electromagnetic transient (EMT) models for transmission or distribution grids.
• Develop simulation algorithms enabling large-scale simulations.
• Integrate grid component models into open-source tools for integrated system dynamics.
• Add post-processing capabilities for automated simulation results.
• Align work with ORNL core values and communicate outcomes to sponsors and conferences.
