Job summary

The University of Notre Dame invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow specializing in quantitative analyses of socio-ecological systems as part of a global synthesis on community-based conservation (CBC) in land and coastal ecosystems.

The fellow will lead systematic reviews, compile and harmonize diverse datasets, support horizon scanning, co-author high-impact publications, and contribute to grant writing within an international collaboration spanning the US, UK, Brazil,

Qualifications

• Ph.D. (in hand by start) in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Environmental Science or Sustainability Studies.
• Strong background in geospatial analysis and data synthesis for evidence synthesis and meta-analysis.
• Experience with large, complex geospatial-temporal datasets and programming in GIS/analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead a systematic review of CBC concepts and develop a typology and framework.
• Compile, harmonize, and analyze diverse social, environmental and climate datasets across scales.
• Support horizon scanning and Delphi-style data collection on CBC futures.
• Co-author interdisciplinary publications and contribute to grant writing and data-sharing infrastructure.
• Engage with global partners to ensure findings are accessible for researchers and policymakers.
