Rice University's Zhang lab seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to advance cell-free synthetic biology. You will design and execute experiments with cell-free systems, cloning, and protein expression, while collaborating with a team and contributing to publications.

The role requires a Ph.D. in a related field, strong communication skills, and the ability to mentor students in an on-site research environment at Rice University. This is a one-year, benefits-eligible position funded by a grant.

Competenze

• Ph.D. in bioengineering, chemical engineering, biochemistry, synthetic biology or closely related field.
• No additional work experience beyond graduate research required.
• Experience in synthetic biology, molecular biology, or related field preferred.

• Develop and execute cell-free gene expression experiments and workflows.
• Design and perform molecular cloning, protein and gene expression experiments.
• Analyze experimental data using Python and bioinformatics tools.
