Iowa State University – College of Engineering invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Catalysis and Electrochemical Conversion of Biomass. The role focuses on designing, synthesizing, and characterizing heterogeneous catalysts and electrocatalysts to convert lignocellulosic biomass into chemicals and fuels, under Professor Tessonnier's guidance.

Responsibilities include developing GC and GC-MS methods, evaluating catalysts in batch, flow, and electrochemical reactors,

Competenze

• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering or closely related field, completed before start date.
• Hands-on synthesis of inorganic or hybrid materials, including metal nanoparticles and oxide catalysts.
• Experience with materials characterization techniques and data analysis (XRD, XPS, EM, adsorption methods).
• Ability to design experiments and interpret relationships between catalyst composition and performance.
