Iowa State University in Ames, IA is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join a milestone-driven program focused on catalysis and electrochemical conversion of lignocellulosic biomass into chemicals and fuels.

The successful candidate will design and test catalysts, develop GC/GC-MS methods, and collaborate with students, faculty, and a national lab partner to advance sustainable energy research.

Competenze

• Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or closely related field.
• Synthesis of inorganic or hybrid materials with control over composition and surface properties.
• Experience with materials characterization techniques (XRD, XPS, electron microscopy, adsorption methods).

Mansioni

• Design, synthesize, and characterize heterogeneous catalysts and electrocatalysts.
• Develop GC and GC-MS analytical methods.
• Evaluate catalysts in batch, flow, and electrochemical reactors.
• Mentor students and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
