Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Five years’ career center or higher education experience related to career and professional development.
  • Understanding of potential career trajectories of postdocs in science and engineering.
  • Familiarity with career services’ online technology/management systems.
  • Knowledge of career development theory and job search process for international postdocs.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cross-cultural and bias issues and ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to identify and assess career concerns from a holistic perspective.
  • Collaborate as a team member.
  • Work effectively with students, postdocs, staff, and faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the career services liaison for postdoctoral scholars.
  • Manage and deliver a range of services to enhance professional development and career competencies.
  • Conduct individual career advising sessions.
  • Create and deliver an annual calendar of workshops/events/certificates.
  • Develop employment preparation materials and career resources.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluate data and outcomes.
  • Prepare budget proposals.
  • Identify and create relationships with employing organizations and MIT community.
