Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a PhD-level Computational Scientist to advance translational cancer research at the intersection of statistics, single-cell and spatial omics, and clinical translation. You will map the tumor immune microenvironment, decode cellular niches, and collaborate with computational biologists, statisticians, and surgeons to develop novel methods and pipelines.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a closely related quantitative field.
• Proven track record in analyzing and modeling single-cell and high-plex spatial profiling data.
• Direct experience processing data from multiplexed imaging or sequencing-based spatial platforms (IMC, Xenium, CosMx, Visium).
• Advanced proficiency in Python and/or R; familiar with Seurat, Giotto, and Bioconductor packages.
• Experience with paired single-cell RNA-seq and V(D)J/TCR datasets.
• Experience connecting molecular data to clinical outcomes and bridging theory to clinical interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply statistical frameworks to map the tumor immune microenvironment and architectural niches.
• Collaborate with computational biologists, statisticians, and surgeons on translational projects.
• Bridge mathematical theory with practical clinical interpretation.
• Provide study design guidance, sample size estimation, and power calculations for translational protocols.
• Create scalable pipelines for multiplexed spatial imaging data and linked omics.
