Job summary

The University of Oregon is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar for the Lindberg Lab at the Knight Campus to conduct research on oxygen‑controlling hydrogels as injectable therapeutics for osteoarthritis. The project spans bioinks, biofabrication, and in vivo evaluation, with responsibilities including supervision of students and collaboration with external partners.

Strong experience in biofabrication, hydrogels, and cell culture is essential.

Qualifications

• PhD in biofabrication, biomedical engineering, chemistry/materials science, cell biology or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in a research environment that uses bioinks/bioresins, biofabrication, hydrogels, or related work.
• 2 years of experience in a research environment that uses cell culture, organoids, microphysiological systems, or related work.
• Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proven record of scientific productivity, including peer-reviewed publications and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead in biofabrication research projects in the Lindberg lab.
• Supervise PhD and undergraduate students and manage collaborative relationships with external partners.
• Conduct in vivo studies to evaluate safety, efficacy, and therapeutic potential of oxygen‑controlling hydrogels for osteoarthritis.
• Design experiments, develop animal protocols, analyze data, and disseminate findings via manuscripts and presentations.
