The candidate will conduct life-cycle and techno-economic analyses, develop a biopower supply chain model, assess regional demand including data-center growth, and contribute to policy-relevant publications

Qualifications

  • PhD in a relevant field with reference to energy, environment, or economics.
  • Experience in economic and energy modeling, and data-driven analysis.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Quantify available woody biomass for biopower generation in SC.
  • Conduct life-cycle assessment and techno-economic analysis of biopower from woody feedstocks.
  • Assess SC's current and projected power demand at the county level including data-center demand.
  • Develop a spatial-temporal biopower supply chain model for siting and sizing units.
  • Estimate economic impact and job effects using IO modeling.
  • Analyze EUDR impacts on the Southern U.S. bioenergy sector and policy risks.
