Job summary

University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) invites applications for multiple Postdoctoral Fellow positions focused on AI/ML in aging and regenerative biology. Based on the UCSF Parnassus campus, the lab blends high‑dimensional data science with mechanistic discovery and collaboration with the African killifish model system.

You will design deep learning and generative models to map aging trajectories, integrate single‑cell and multi‑omic data, and advance macromolecular design.

Qualifications

• PhD in computer science, bioinformatics, computational biology, biomedical engineering, statistics, or a related field.
• Strong track record of developing or customizing ML/DL approaches for complex biological data.
• Experience with high‑dimensional biological datasets (single‑cell, multi‑omics, clinical or spatial).
• Proficiency in Python (preferred) and/or R, and Unix/Linux HPC/cloud environments.
• Strong publication record and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Design deep learning and generative models for cross‑species single‑cell and multi‑omic data.
• Integrate high‑dimensional datasets to map aging trajectories and predict interventions.
• Develop structure‑based models for predictive design of macromolecules.
• Collaborate with wet‑lab teams to validate ML findings in vivo using the African killifish model.
