Job summary

The NexCom Laboratory at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Computational Surgery. The role focuses on advancing AI-enabled computational mechanics and scalable solvers in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in a related field.
  • Strong background in computational solid mechanics, finite element methods, numerical methods, or graphics.
  • Excellent programming skills in C/C++ and Python, with experience developing large-scale scientific software.
  • Experience with object-oriented software development and modern software practices.
  • Record of scholarly publications in reputed conferences/journals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative work in interdisciplinary environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop next-generation numerical methods for computational solid mechanics.
  • Design and implement robust finite element algorithms for nonlinear mechanics problems.
  • Develop AI-enabled acceleration strategies for nonlinear finite element analysis.
  • Create scalable solvers, multigrid methods, Krylov algorithms, and learned preconditioners.
  • Run large-scale simulations and analyze numerical results.
  • Publish in leading journals and conferences; mentor students.
