Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient-centered care using the nursing process across assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will coordinate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to achieve optimal outcomes in a supportive environment.

The role requires 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience, valid state RN licensure, and BCLS; ACLS/PALS are preferred. Location is Birmingham, AL, with day shifts and full-time scheduling.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required.
• RN licensure required (state or compact)
• BCLS certification required; ACLS/PALS preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers patient-centered care in accordance with policies and nursing process.
• Assesses patients, documents findings, and reports changes to care team.
• Provides age-appropriate care and education.
• Administers medications and monitors for side effects.
• Assists physicians during procedures within competency.
• Collaborates to develop and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Responds to emergencies and participates in CPR/code team activities.
• Educates patients and families on conditions, plans, and post-discharge care.
• Maintains infection control and safety protocols.
• Documents care promptly in the medical record.
• Engages in professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
