Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) at our Birmingham, AL location. The RN will provide patient-centered care across the continuum, following established protocols and physician orders.

The role requires collaboration with physicians, nurses, and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities include performing assessments, administering medications, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Alabama.
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred.
• 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience in acute care is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient-centered care per nursing process and protocols.
• Document assessments and care plans; report changes to care team.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge plans.
• Ensure infection control and safety protocols are followed.
