Job summary

NOVO Health Services seeks a Soiled Sorter for our Skokie, IL facility. You will sort and organize linens, maintain quality, and follow safety procedures in a fast-paced environment.

We offer competitive pay starting at $17 per hour, plus holidays, PTO, 401(k) with employer match, FSA/HSA options, health/dental/vision coverage, life/AD&D, and LTD. Must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs on a 10-hour shift.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach and stack items for long shifts.
• Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Preferred: High School Education, GED, and formal training.
• Preferred: 1–2 years in health care, manufacturing, or similar industries.

Responsibilities

• Sort large pieces on the belt including bath blankets, flat sheets, draw sheets and thermals.
• Sort the second largest pieces: underpants, patient gowns, and fitted sheets.
• Handle remaining pieces like bath towels, washcloths, hand towels and scrubs.
• Adhere to quality standards for soil sorting and cart cleaning.
• Follow safety procedures and policies and assist with other duties as assigned.

We are currently looking for a Soiled Sorter at our Skokie facility. We are looking for someone confident in decision-making, who can act quickly, and has excellent communication skills. If you are ready to commit to measurable performance and continuous improvement, we want to hear from you!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• The attendants on the belt perform the following tasks:One attendant sorts large pieces consisting of bath blankets, flat sheets, draw sheets, and thermals.
• The second and third attendant sorts the second largest pieces - underpants, patient gowns, and fitted sheets.
• The fourth and fifth attendant will handle all the rest of the pieces, such as bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, and scrubs.
• Adhere to quality standards in terms of soil sorting and cart cleaning.
• Understand, observe, and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
• Assist and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required: Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
• Required: Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from the machine for long periods.
• Required: Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
• Required: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Preferred: High School Education, GED, and formal education/training
• Preferred: 1 to 2 years of experience in the health care, manufacturing or similarly situated industries.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting 50 lbs. or more, and stooping.
• Physical Requirements consist of being able to meet the physical demands for the entire 10 hour shift.

PAY

Pay starts at $17 an hour
