THE ROLE:

AMD’s Strategic Silicon Solutions group is responsible for custom silicon for advanced gaming platforms such as XBOX, PlayStation, and Steam Deck. As a Post-Silicon Power and Performance Validation Engineer you will play a critical role in ensuring our custom silicon products meet power and performance targets and are optimized for customer use cases. Y you will interact with architecture, firmware, driver, and other teams to develop testplans for new product features, execute studies in a lab environment, and analyze data to validate that the product meets specifications.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will have experience in power or performance attainment of features of CPU, GPU, or APUs. This person should thrive in a matrixed environment spanning multiple countries and time zones.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop testplans in collaboration with architects, firmware, and IP-specific engineering teams to ensure products meet or exceed performance targets.
  • Work with architects and the business team to support current and potential future products.
  • Execute power and performance studies to support business development.
  • Validate and tune product features post-silicon.
  • Set up and debug systems under test.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience validating power or performance features of CPUs, GPUs, or APUs.
  • Familiarity with graphics, core, and gaming-focused workloads.
  • Familiarity with the use of data acquisition and thermal equipment.
  • Experience analyzing and presenting data using Power BI, Sigma, or similar.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed, and multi-site technical organization.
  • Prior, recent years of experience with PC and / or power and performance experience.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
