Job summary

Fathom Digital Manufacturing, a leading on-demand manufacturing platform in North America, is hiring a Post Production Assembler Finisher. You will assemble components, finish parts, and prepare items for painting across rapid prototyping processes.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of hand tools and other equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Willingness to be flexible and apply new programs and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Installs brass inserts in rapid prototype, fiberglass and injection molded parts.
  • Trims rapid prototype, fiberglass and injection molded parts.
  • Assembles rapid prototype, fiberglass and injection molded parts.
  • Prepares parts for painting by sanding and sandblasting and filling with epoxy and polyester fillers.
  • Use of air grinding and sanding tools.
  • Use of saws and cutoff tools.
  • Visually inspects parts for defects.
  • Stamps and labels parts.
  • Monitors inventory levels for production parts and BOM hardware, requests Purchase Orders and alerts supervisor when levels are low.
  • Conducts Inventory counts.

Position Summary

The finishing technician is responsible for assembling a product or components of a product and finishing the product through priming, lamination, gluing, sanding, trimming, glazing, and other processes. May perform all tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through all or most of them, rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembles rapid prototype, fiberglass and injection molded parts
  • Prepares parts for painting by sanding and sandblasting and filling with epoxy and polyester fillers

Requirements

Physical Demands
  • Able to stand for 5 hours at a time
  • Able to occasionally lift 60 lbs
  • Able to wear Protective Personal Equipment needed for the position
