Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical 4 West unit. A 46-bed surgical unit providing general post-operative care across colorectal, gynecology, trauma and other surgical services.

You will work within a supportive organization, delivering patient-centered care and advancing clinical practice. The role emphasizes teamwork, documentation, quality improvement involvement, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as an RN in Massachusetts.
• 1+ year of RN experience preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS required in some units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred).
• Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Fluency in another language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in Medical Surgical unit, including assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education.
• Communicate with healthcare team, patients, and families.
• Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to interdisciplinary colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow nursing policies and guidelines.
• Assist leadership with quality improvement projects.
