Job summary

UW Medical Center - Montlake in Seattle is seeking a Post Lung Transplant Registered Nurse to support our Transplant Services team. You will manage post-transplant patient care, education, and coordination, with emphasis on long-term follow-up, nursing assessment, triage, and documentation, while adhering to UNOS and HRSA data requirements.

The role focuses on the nursing care and coordination of post-transplant patients, and includes daily clinical procedures and education for surgical patients

Qualifications

• Two years of professional nursing experience in post-transplant care.
• BSN preferred; transplant coordination knowledge (UNOS) is a plus.
• Equivalent education/experience considered where legal requirements allow.

UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Post Lung Transplant Registered Nurse to join our Transplant Services team.

The focuses on the duties related to the post-transplantation phase and will include procurement call. Management for the designated transplant patient population includes independent patient assessment, triage, education, coordination of medical and nursing care, and documentation of care. Integral to the role is an understanding of the regulations and data requirements surrounding transplant care issued from the United Network of Organ Sharing and HRSA.

Job Description

Responsible for the nursing care and coordination of the post lung transplant long-term patients, plus the surgical (non-transplant) patient education and surgical prep, as well as multiple clinical procedures on a daily basis.

Nursing Process – Systematically assesses the need for and the delivery of nursing services that meet patient care requirements, whether delivered directly or by the other nursing staff.

Requirements

Two years of professional nursing experience, including clinical nursing expertise in post lung transplant patient care. Prefer skills in transplant coordination/United Network of Organ Sharing and BSN. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
