Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Jackson in Jackson, MS is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a per diem/as-needed schedule. You will work under the supervising PT to deliver therapy, assist with patient transportation and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient’s goals.

Qualifications

• Valid state PTA license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained by start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivery of physical therapy services including transportation, therapeutic exercises and functional activities.
• Implement treatment goals, plans and programs as established by the physical therapist (PT).
• Assist the PT in carrying out interventions to meet long-term goals: strengthening, balance, endurance and mobility.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics or assistive devices.
