CODES Cannabis is seeking a detail-oriented Post Harvest Tech I to support daily post harvest operations such as quality checks, bucking, trimming, sorting, and movement of cannabis material after harvest.

The role focuses on production-based tasks, following SOPs, and learning the full post-harvest process while maintaining safety and cleanliness in a compliant workspace.

Responsibilities

• Quality Control on Conveyor Line: perform quality checks on cannabis batches as they move along the line.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and report deviations to supervisor.
• Assist in removal of plants or flowers with quality defects to maintain product integrity.
• Harvest and Drying Support: assist in harvest and drying processes as directed by team lead.
• Prepare and set up drying rooms and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to maximize efficiency.
• Operate and maintain the B4 Bucking machines as instructed by team lead.
• Assist with burping and takedown processes to optimize drying conditions.
• Follow safety protocols when operating equipment to minimize risks.
• Identify quality defects (mold, pests) and remove afflicted material with team leads.
• Clean totes and equipment as part of daily tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Description The Post Harvest Tech I supports daily post harvest operations by assisting with the processing of cannabis material after harvest. This entry level role focuses on production based tasks, following established SOPs, and completing tasks efficiently and safely. Core responsibilities include hanging harvests to dry, bucking, trimming, sorting, and general material movement, along with possible basic data logging and equipment cleaning. They are gaining experience with product issue identification and removal. The Tech I works closely with tech 3’s, leads and supervisors, follows direction well, and contributes to maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant workspace. This role is ideal for someone reliable, detail oriented, and eager to learn the full post harvest process.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Quality Control on Conveyor Line:
• Perform quality control checks on cannabis batches as they move along the conveyor line.
• Ensure compliance with established quality standards and promptly report any deviations or issues to the supervisor.
• Assist in the removal of plants or flowers with quality defects, maintaining product integrity.
• Harvest and Drying Support:
• Assist in the harvest and drying process as directed by the team lead.
• Participate in the preparation and setup of drying rooms and equipment.
• Help maintain a clean and organized work environment to maximize efficiency.
• Machine Operations:
• Operate and maintain the B4 Bucking machines as instructed by team lead.
• Assist with the burping and takedown processes to facilitate optimal drying conditions.
• Follow safety protocols when operating equipment to minimize risks.
• Quality Control and Defect Identification:
• Learn to identify quality defects, such as mold, pests, or other abnormalities, in cannabis plants or flower.
• Work closely with Tech II, Tech III and Leads to remove afflicted plants or flower from the production line, ensuring the highest product quality.
• Cleaning of totes and equipment necessary to perform daily tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Basic understanding of cannabis cultivation and post-harvest processes is a plus.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining product quality.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Must be at least 21 years of age (as per legal requirements).

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
• The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.

• The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
• The ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours at a time.
• The ability to work in bright/hot/humid conditions.
