The Sanchez-Gurmaches Lab research program works at the intersection of metabolic tissue biology, cardiovascular health and mitochondrial function. The central goals of the lab are to understand the molecular and metabolic mechanisms that drive the normal and pathological formation and function of cardiometabolic regulatory cells. To do this, we use sophisticated mouse genetics for targeting, lineage tracing and others of adipocytes and cardiomyocytes, in vivo viral infections, single cell and omic approaches and rigorous functional readouts. We are looking for someone who has (or is about to complete) a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD, with a strong record of productivity and expertise in one or more of: mouse genetics, cardiac or adipose biology, and molecular biology. Strong communication skills, scientific creativity, and the drive to lead a project are essential. We offer a collaborative environment within one of the top pediatric research institutions in the country, outstanding core facilities, and access to a rich network of collaborators across metabolism, cardiovascular biology, and developmental biology.
At Cincinnati Children’s, we come to work with one goal: to make children’s health better. We believe in a holistic team approach, both in caring for patients and their families, and in advancing science and discovery. We strive to do better and find energy and inspiration in our shared purpose. If you want to be the best you can be, you can do it at Cincinnati Children’s.
