The Department of Physics in the College of Science, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for a Post Doctoral Research Associate. The successful candidate will contribute to projects investigating the Earth’s upper atmosphere during both geomagnetically active and quiet times. Research topics include (but not limited to) the impact of solar flares on the upper atmosphere, the interhemispheric asymmetry in the upper atmosphere, and the ionospheric scintillations during storm and quiet time. Primary responsibilities include analyzing GNSS measurements and other satellite data and conducting data-model comparisons.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct original research independently and collaboratively.
- Collaborate closely with members of the Space Physics group at UTA.
- Present research findings at professional conferences and publish results on peer-reviewed journals.
- Help with mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates should hold a recent Ph.D. in physics, space physics, plasma physics, or a related field.
- Candidates should have experience in analyzing GNSS TEC data or ionospheric scintillation data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in running first-principle models.
- Experience in analyzing GOLD data.
