Post-Doctoral Fellow (Microbiology - Lab of Dr. Luis Sigal)

Job Description

The Post-Doctoral Fellow conducts experiments as part of a team of biomedical researchers to investigate the molecular mechanisms mediating diseases. They will record and analyze experimental results and collaborate effectively with other team members.

1. Maintains a lab database of technical and animal protocols, plasmids, antibodies, and other key resources. Keeps accurate records of reagents.
2. Troubleshoots experimental design malfunctions, implements solutions, and interfaces with equipment manufacturers for adjustments and repairs.
3. Requires a Ph.D. or M.D. and a minimum of five (5) years of bench research experience.
4. Instructs research personnel on specialized techniques and complex protocols; coordinates and participates in intra-collegial presentations and meetings. Trains and mentors research personnel.
5. Analyzes results of experiments independently.
6. Develops scientific hypotheses related to ongoing work in the laboratory and designs experiments to test these hypotheses.
