Job Summary

McLean Hospital is a comprehensive psychiatric hospital committed to providing easy access to superior, cost‑effective mental health services in the Boston area.The Digital Neuropsychology and Brain Health Laboratory invites a Post‑Doctoral Research Fellow to work independently under the supervision of Dr. Shifali Singh, PhD, in developing novel, innovative approaches for measuring everyday cognition at scale using digital technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Assist management of ongoing studies related to cognition, mood, and behavior
  • Design and implement modifications of lab‑related and independent research protocols
  • Troubleshoot problems and instruct colleagues in highly specialized techniques
  • Synthesise and interpret results
  • Perform advanced data recording and analysis using various software programs and statistical techniques – must be comfortable with R and statistical software
  • Knowledge and experience working with LLMs, machine learning, and time‑series analyses is preferred
  • Experience analyzing voice data is a bonus but not required
  • Experience working with industry is preferred but not required
  • Present results at lab meetings and national conferences
  • Prepare and submit research manuscripts to peer‑reviewed journals
  • Assist with preparation of grant applications
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements
  • PhD in clinical neuropsychology, cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, computational neuroscience/biology, quantitative psychology, human‑computer interaction, or a related field (or equivalent)
  • Prior lab experience required
  • Evidence of strong scientific productivity, including peer‑reviewed publications
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Strong technical and computer‑science skills
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Independent decision‑making ability
  • Competence in research techniques and methodologies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Team player
Additional Requirements

Assistance in guiding research technicians and trainees in the lab is expected.

Working Conditions
