A renowned health institution is seeking candidates for a PostDoc position in neuroimaging informed neuromodulation at the University of Minnesota. This role involves significant research opportunities, including data collection, analysis, and writing, contributing to important discoveries in therapeutic developments. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong qualifications with a doctorate in a related field and demonstrated experience in relevant technologies.
The PostDoc position will have the opportunity to work in a consortium of labs/PIs within the University of Minnesota within Departments of Psychiatry, Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering. This is in a joint collaborative partnership on neuroimaging informed neuromodulation in human participants in the Medical Discovery Team on Addiction (MDTA) with Dr. Hamed Ekhtiari's leadership in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences. This consortium is interested in closing the loop between neuromodulation and fMRI. The postdoc will work on the network level perturbation of neurocircuits using high-definition neuromodulation. This postdoc will lead scientific discovery in developing new therapeutics and will be in charge for neuromodulation and neuroimaging hardware and software arrangements, collecting and analysis of data, and publishing the new discoveries.
Note: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at University of Minnesota Twin Cities location; working remote is not an option.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
*Neuroimaging and neuromodulation data collection (25%)
*Preparation of scientific reports and paper writing (25%),
* Neuroimaging data analytics (25%)
*Grant writing (25%)
Additional Job Duties:
*Assist with neuromodulation, physiology and MRI data acquisition and analysis
*Assist with supervision of trainees and their interactions with study methods and data
*Contribute substantially to the preparation of manuscripts via literature review, data analysis and interpretation
*Communicate effectively with investigators, staff, and participants
*Candidates should have a Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, biomedical engineering or related field and experience with TMS, tACS, fMRI data analysis and related programming.
Required Qualifications:
*A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS etc.) in an appropriate field.
*Scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.
*Previous experiences with fMRI data analytics. Good hands on experience with softwares like AFNI, FreeSurfer, SPM, FSL and SIMNIBS is an asset.
*The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.

Pay Range: The salary range is between $62,232 - $70,344 (NIH guidelines), depending on education/qualifications/experience
