Job summary

The Hatmaker Lab at the University of Georgia seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team. You will use bioinformatic tools to explore intraspecies variation in cross-kingdom pathogens within Aspergillus using genomic and transcriptomic data.

Our work focuses on strain heterogeneity, mobile genetic elements, pathogenicity, secondary metabolism, and antifungal drug resistance, particularly in Aspergillus flavus.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences, or closely related field.
• Experience using a high-performance computing cluster.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications.
• Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience working with fungi in a molecular biology setting.
• Background in bioinformatics and genomics.
