Job summary

Waste Pro USA is seeking a Post Collections Heavy Equipment Technician to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic and body systems on heavy equipment such as front end loaders, excavators, skid steers, and landfill gear.

The role includes performing preventative maintenance, reviewing repairs from DVIR/VCR, communicating findings to managers, completing paperwork, maintaining a clean work area, and conducting safety checks across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses mechanical problems and repairs or performs preventative maintenance on equipment to maximize safety and productivity.
• Reviews and completes repairs identified on DVIR, VCR, and repair orders.
• Communicates issues with heavy equipment to managers/operators and discusses preventive techniques.
• Completes all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
• Follows safety policies and procedures.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Uses vehicle computer electronics to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Performs repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
• Maintains high standard of ethics and dependability.
• Drives a service vehicle and performs repairs at multiple sites.

Position: Post Collections Heavy Equipment Technician

Knowledge and ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components and systems related to heavy equipment including but not limited to, front end loaders, excavators, skid steers, landfill equipment, aggregate equipment. May include welding and fabrication.

Essential Job Functions

• Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment to maximize safe and productive operations.
• Reviews and completes repairs identified on DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report), VCR (Vehicle Inspection Reports) and/or repair orders.
• Communicates issues with heavy equipment with managers and/or operators and discusses preventive techniques that minimize future repairs.
• Completes all required paperwork in a timely and concise manner.
• Follows all safety policies and procedures
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
• Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Conducts repairs utilizing Factory Service Manuals.
• Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain high standard of Ethics and Dependability.
