Tulane University is seeking a Grants and Contracts Pre-Award Specialist to manage a portfolio within RASU. You will apply knowledge of federal rules, university policies, and contracts to ensure efficient pre-award activities and high-quality deliverables.

You will collaborate with pre-award specialists and cross-functional teams, analyze data to support decisions, and mentor staff while maintaining strong customer service and adherence to deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 years grants and contracts management experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Alternative: High School Diploma/equivalent with 9 years grants and contracts experience.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of federal rules and regulations relating to research grant/activity.
  • Knowledge of University policies relating to grant and contracts activity.
  • Knowledge of University processes related to submission and management.
  • Collaborate with pre-award specialists to solve problems and guide on pre-award activities.
  • Work with colleagues to solve questions and challenges in daily work.
  • Demonstrate high-level interpersonal skills in a professional environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Analyze data and formulate conclusions.
  • Learn changing technologies related to grants and contracts management.
  • Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.

Manages the day -to-day operations and objectives in support of the assigned portfolio. Contributes information and ideas related to areas of responsibility as part of a cross functional team. Ensures effective and efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards for staff/ program and self.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years effective work-related grants and contracts management related experience, or High School Diploma/equivalent and 9 years’ grants and contracts management experience
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
