Job summary

UH Population Health is hiring a Post-Award Research Administrator II or III to manage complex grants and contracts for the University of Houston system. The role leads the research administration team for assigned college units, ensuring compliance and timely processing across pre-award and post-award activities.

The position requires a formal 4-year degree and at least three years of relevant experience, with strong knowledge of federal/state regulations, cost centers, and negotiation of terms

Qualifications

• Requires a formal 4 year degree and 3+ years of directly job-related experience.
• Experience with federal/state regulations and research administration preferred.
• Ability to guide faculty and administrators on grants and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and submits proposals to external funding sources and manages cost centers.
• Provides guidance on grants and contracts issues to faculty and executives.
• Leads the research administration team and coordinates work activities.
• Maintains web-based proposal submission and research administration systems.
• Negotiates terms with sponsors and reviews contracts with the Research Contracts Officer.
• Ensures compliance with sponsor regulations and university guidelines.
• Evaluates expenditure reallocations for allowability and timeliness.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
