Job summary

The Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) seeks a Post-Award Financial Administrator to support PI teams with post-award fiscal management across government and private sponsors. The role focuses on budgeting, billing, and compliance through all project phases.

Responsibilities include preparing award accounts, monitoring restricted funds, assisting auditors, and generating reports.

Qualifications

BS or BA preferred or Bachelor degree bound with minimum of 15 credits in accounting.
High level of computer literacy; accounting software experience is a plus.
Entry level candidates will be considered.
Strong oral, written and listening communication skills; ability to interact with staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze award documents preparatory to accounts establishment.
Establish accounts and validate documentation to meet sponsor/CUNY/RFCUNY requirements.
Perform fiscal review of independent contractor agreements for PAs approval.
Provide financial oversight over restricted sponsor funds and related transactions.
Assist PIs in preparing budget modifications and award closeout processes.
Assist on/off site auditors and prepare interim and final billings.
Maintain accounts receivable and respond to inquiries about billings and collections.
Monitor sponsor terms and compliance; support audits and financial reviews.
