Vermillion School is seeking a Positive Behavior Instuctional Support (PBIS) Teacher. This person should be endorsed for high incidence or be willing to work towards the proper endorsement. Our PBS teachers receive additional compensation for working in this classroom type. They also can request a substitute four days a year so they can focus on IEPs and special education paperwork. There is tuition reimbursement available to teachers pursuing their special education endorsement. Our team of instructional coaches and mentors will provide amazing support.
The PBIS teacher supports the instructional process with specific responsibility for facilitating instruction for special education students with social, emotional and behavioral disorders; supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; coordinating curriculum and intervention activities; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.

Physical Demands, Working Environment
This position generally requires the following physical demands: occasional lifting and carrying up to seventy-five (75) pounds, some pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 10% sitting, 80% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. The job is performed under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
