Falmouth Public Schools Community School is seeking a part-time Portuguese Teacher to teach language and culture to K–6 students at multiple campuses in Falmouth, MA. The role includes after-school sessions (2–10 hours weekly) and evening adult classes, with compensation between $25 and $40 per hour.

Reports to the Community School Coordinator. Minimum requirements include Portuguese and English proficiency, experience with children, and strong organizational skills.

  • Provide and collect sign-in sheets and report to the coordinator.
  • Communicate with families in a positive, nonjudgmental manner.
  • Model reading and promote developmentally appropriate Portuguese activities.
  • Maintain attendance records and participate in team collaboration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the coordinator.

Job Description: Portuguese Enrichment – Teach Portuguese Language and Culture.

Reports To: Falmouth Community School Coordinator

Title: Portuguese Teacher

2-10 hours per week (after school hours)

1-4 hours per week (evening adult classes)

Position Summary: Share the Portuguese Language and Culture with students K – 6 th grade at Mullen Hall, Teaticket, E. Falmouth, North Falmouth and Morse Pond). Offer adult classes in the evenings.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: Speak Portuguese and English.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with students.
  • Ability to be independent and be a team member.

Salary and Terms of Employment:$25.00 - $40.00 per hour, part-time hours.
