Job summary

UMB Financial Corporation is seeking a Credit Analyst to spread financial statements, analyze personal and corporate financials, and identify trends to support credit strategy. You will present solutions on credit structure and covenants to the Portfolio Manager.

The role requires 1+ year of credit analysis experience, a Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance, and strong Excel/Word skills. You will interact with sales force and credit managers across multiple states and may visit

• Demonstrates credit decision making and financial analysis skills

Job description

How you'll spend your time:

• Perform spreading company financial statements and tax returns.
• Analyze financial statements, personal financial statements, and performance metrics for explanation of variances, to identify trends, and to address a credit strategy appropriate for the credit risk.
• Present solutions to credit structure, covenants, financial reporting requirements and other credit conditions to the Portfolio Manager.
• Provide specialized risk guidance and advice on existing portfolio of watch list credits across a multi-state geographical footprint.
• Secure financial information and test covenants requirements.
• Provide timely client follow up and ensure that loan servicing actions, such as past due payment collections, demand letters, law suits, and liquidations are properly administered.
• May perform site visits if needed.
• Address complaints successfully, resolve documentation exceptions and covenant requirement violations.

• Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related area with at least 6 hours of accounting 1+ year in Business Loan experience (up to $5MM)
• 1+ year credit analysis experience
• Demonstrates credit decision making skills and ability
• Demonstrates financial analytical skills with ability to solve complex problems by interpreting data and results
• Demonstrates excellent writing skills to create credit memos
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate with sales force and credit managers
• Demonstrates ability to work independently
• Demonstrates proficiency of Excel, and Word to create tables and worksheets for credit memos

Bonus Points if you have:

• Previous Business Loan collections experience
• 2 years Business Loan credit underwriting SBA program knowledge
• Knowledge of Capital Stream, FIS/BIS, Knowledge of SOP for SBA guaranteed loans
• An aptitude to think strategically and envision future state of the portfolio

Compensation Range: $67,869 - $99,836

The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB's good faith and reasonable estimate based on its budget and what it expects to be the starting pay for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
